Hi Andrej and the community,
Absolutely loved the original US visualizer. We thought the UI was a brilliant way to make macro job data digestible, so my team decided to adapt the concept for the UK workforce.
We mapped out just over 400 UK occupations using official datasets from the ONS (Office for National Statistics) and the National Careers Service.
What we built:
You can check it out here: https://wecovr.com/calculators/uk-job-market-visualiser/
Alongside the Automation Potential and AI Exposure layers, we added a few custom metrics specific to our use case (we are an insurtech startup):
Income & Health Vulnerability: Visualizing the physical and financial risks associated with specific roles.
Median Pay & Growth Outlook: Standard UK benchmarks.
Protection Score: A calculator at the end for users to see how resilient their personal finances are based on their specific job's risk profile.
Just wanted to drop this here to share with anyone looking for UK data, and to say a massive thank you to @karpathy for the original open-source inspiration and framework.
Would love to hear any feedback from the community on the data mapping!
