@jeremyshelton Please capture the details of the IUCN species lists that you have downloaded with urls to guide @dimasciput towards future linking via API as per the global conservation status.
We may need further discussion on this?
My thoughts:
At the moment we can pull taxon lists from GBIF (for a specific spatial area). see image below.
Going forward, given that GBIF data includes terrestrial, freshwater and marine taxa, with no way to distinguish between them, we should rather be able to pull taxon lists from IUCN.
Perhaps including both as an option for now?
