How to turn off screen and/or set screen timeout?

I haven't been able to find any specific ways to turn the screen off from these drivers.

I tried xset dpms force off from an SSH session, but it told me :0 didn't exist. When I looked up which displays were hooked up with the w command, the LCD32 didn't show up.

Is there a known command to either turn this screen off or give it a screen timeout?

Unfortunally, these commands are only for HDMI or CVBS, not for these types of display connected via GPIO.

So is there any sort of feature either in this program, another program, or linux standard, to temporarily turn off power to the GPIO?
