Suggestion : Emergency Access

Would'nt it be useful to provide Emergency Access when owner dies ?
I do not see how this could be done without an external contact ?

Pretty much what @droidmonkey says. You will need to share that password in some way.
That could be a usb key with a password, a printed sheet in a physical folder, a draft email in a service that will automatically move to someone else, in your will or, if you want to get really fancy, you could use Shamir's secret sharing to distribute that among multiple trustees that should agree that you are indeed dead (I would worry if they would be able to follow that, though, as they may not be technologically inclined).

Given that it should be a one-time use, you could use an extremely long and random password that opens an "Emergency
Access" database. Thus, rather than sharing with e.g. Gmail the password of your usual database, you could use such a random password for an "Emergency Access" database and, should you change your mind (like Google changing its motto to "Let's be evil"), you would only need to change/delete that in order to revoke the password shared with that service.
