Having to check "Search all open databases" to find the right entry, despite having only one database open #12978

Is this a bug, or expected behavior? I have to use CTRL + F to check "Search all open databases" in order to find the right entries when searching in the auto-type modal, even though I only have one database open. |

That happens when you have the wrong tab selected. |

If your expected entries are not showing then that means you didn't setup the correct window title associations for those entries. Read more here: https://keepassxc.org/docs/KeePassXC_UserGuide#_configure_auto_type_sequences |

I think I found the answer in an old screenshot in the docs, where there are two options: "Filter matches" and "search database":
The default behaviour is to filter the matches found automatically, and only when you check "Search all open databases" does it actually search the database.
My impression was that it would first search the active database tab, and if you checked the checkbox, search all open databases. In my case, with only one database open, there should be no difference, if this were the case.
I think the old UI was more clear on what is going on.
Maybe consider using "Filter matches" as the default search box placeholder, instead of the current "Search" placeholder.
