Documentation about avoiding upstream FreeCAD overwriting BTL info

In the README 'Feature Comparison'¹ we see this

But we see no asterisk/footnote or link that elaborates further on how to mitigate this.

Maybe we can open an upstream ticket feature to override this problem ?

Edit: the footnote doesn't specify how to avoid this issue ? Is there any workaround at all ? "Don't open your CAM files without BTL installed?" which sounds pretty clunky
