Whether it be to solve a problem or to contribute in any way, the Xfce communities are a good place to get help or to share your ideas. You might also want to have a look at the communities of the different distributions which provide Xfce.
6+
7+
## Mailing lists
8+
9+
Almost all development and coordination work is taking place on the Xfce mailing lists. A summary of all lists is available at [mail.xfce.org](https://mail.xfce.org). There is also a user-specific list where you can ask questions and freely discuss about the desktop.
10+
11+
**NOTE:** In order to post to these lists, you must first subscribe.
12+
13+
## Matrix
14+
15+
If you have a problem that you cannot resolve, you might want to try asking a question in our Matrix channel [#xfce](https://matrix.to/#/#xfce:matrix.org). The channel has several active users. It is recommended that you consult the [documentation](https://docs.xfce.org/) about your problem before asking your question.
16+
17+
## Forums
18+
19+
For users who prefer forums, the [Xfce Forum](https://forum.xfce.org/) is the place to be. Active contributors will be able to help you, but please do not use it for bug reports.

Most distributions ship with Xfce in their own packaging format, but if you want a newer version or you want to build Xfce from scratch, you can find the packages below. **Also read: [How to compile Xfce](https://docs.xfce.org/xfce/building)**.

## Individual releases
16+
17+
Each package in Xfce can make individual stable or development releases, including the core packages (as described in the [release model](/about/releasemodel)). You can follow the announcements of the releases on the [Xfce users mailing list](/community/lists), watch the [release feeds](https://archive.xfce.org/feeds/project/) or follow the Xfce [Mastodon](https://floss.social/@xfce) or [Twitter account](https://twitter.com/xfceofficial).

## Distributions
22+
23+
A lot of different distributions provide Xfce packages. Popular examples built around Xfce are [Xubuntu](https://xubuntu.org/), the [Fedora Xfce Spin](https://fedoraproject.org/spins/xfce), [Manjaro](https://manjaro.org/products/download/) or [Zenwalk](http://www.zenwalk.org/), but there is a good chance your favorite distro provides packages as well.

25+
You can find a more complete list at [DistroWatch.com]https://distrowatch.com/search.php?pkg=xfdesktop&pkgver=4.18).

After almost two years of work, we are happy to announce the release of Xfce 4.20!
10+
11+
Since Xfce 4.18 a lot of major development happened. Our team added many nice new features, did a gazillion of bug fixes and did various minor improvements. Finally, all that was released for your pleasure.

The major focus during this development cycle was the preparation of the codebase to be ready for Wayland. So that we meanwhile have experimental Wayland support for most components. More details in the links below.
