Panic in desktop after "detected changes to menu bar items"

I see three examples post-release, all macOS. For two, they appear to be pointing to getIcon: https://github.com/kolide/launcher/blob/main/ee/desktop/user/menu/menu_icon.go#L10, with "panic: runtime error: invalid memory address or nil pointer dereference". The other one is "SIGABRT: abort".

All three panics come immediately after a "detected changes to menu bar items" log.
