Help with SSH and colors

I have 1 server that has some unreadable colors being set, I don't think Kitty is setting the colors but it is somehow causing it as this doesn't happen with Konsole

The difference between this server and everything else I SSH into is that it's Unraid (Slackware) which I do have the kitten binaries on. Everything else is NixOS.

Things I've tried with no change

• export TERM=xterm-256color;
• Messing with LS_COLORS and LSCOLORS

I've also tried changing the theme with --kitten color_scheme='...' but that just gave me different unreadable colors.

Any help appreciated

See ssh-kitten so the terminfo is copied over ssh or override the TERM before sshing into a remote host but that is not recommended by the author of kitty, if you want to do it automatically add this to ~/.ssh/config:

SetEnv TERM=xterm-256color
