The point of the quick access terminal is to be always focused. When
unfocused it is meant to be hidden. For different types of behaviors,
the best place to implement such things is in whatever window manager
you use. For example on Wayland your rule 2 wont actually be possible
since applications are not allowed to take focus for themselves
arbitrarily, because of focus stealing prevention rules.

I have been using kitty as a quick access terminal for a long time via an ugly hack, and just noticed that this is now supported out of box. Thanks for constantly improving the already great terminal!
Would it be possible to have an option for an alternative toggle behavior that goes as follows? When kitten quick-access-terminal is run:
