I have seen the warning but I am not using the installer. I have downloaded the binary separately i.e. there is no "installation folder" as I can put it anywhere. Does this mean I should put it into EDIT: |

Update: Running the installer fixed the problem. Thus, I can only recommend people to us it instead of trying to put the binary manually somewhere. |

I have been using the distro-provided kitty binary for some time. But because I see repeated keys in neovim (only in kitty, not the Ubuntu-provided terminal) I thought I'd try the latest version of kitty to see whether this bug has been fixed (if it is a bug in kitty at all).
I downloaded the kitty binary (amd64) and put it into
~/bin.However, when running it I see the following error message:
