Game Design/Architecture/Libraries

Hi Guys since this is a game and heavily focuses on front end we need to discuss about the technologies to be used mainly the front end technologies.

Backend - Rails application
Database - For now lets go with sqlite itself, what do u guys think ?
Front end Technologies - Backbone, No idea How to create the graphics any suggestions.
