Kubeflow Pipelines V1 Deprecation Notice

Hello everyone,

This is a formal announcement for V1 Deprecation. Once KFP 2.5 released, V1 will be considered to be in a deprecated state, and is subject to being removed in a future subsequent release. The deprecation includes:

• Any V1 only components, including: cache-server, visualization server, mlmd writer, viewer controller, etc.
• Any and all V1 only APIs
• The ability to submit Argo Workflows directly to KFP api server (in lieu of pipeline IR yamls)
• No more future image builds for any v1 only specific components

The specific date of removal has yet to be decided and we welcome community input on a reasonable timeline to ensure a smooth transition. Feel free to drop a comment here, or join the KFP community calls for more discussion on the matter.

Please also note that the team's bandwidth for addressing KFP v1 related issues is severely limited. Our advise is to switch to v2 at your earliest convenience. If you find any regressions in V2 from V1, please bring these to our attention so we may address these ASAP. Thanks.
