What problem are you trying to solve?
SIG Autoscaling has been working on an API for users to declare a buffer\headroom: kubernetes/autoscaler#8151
This would solve the following problems for Karpenter users:
- Kueue Integration
- Scheduling latency improvements for sensitive applications
- pod headroom
Karpenter should support this Buffer API by accommodating it in its scheduling and consolidation algorithms.
