events order is wrong and event menu is missing

The events menu is missing because we're adding maintainer summits from both 2025 and 2026 #590

We can monitor this issue to reorder the events appropriately, as they are currently sorted by weight rather than by date (newest to oldest). This approach is more maintainable and avoids the need to adjust weights for each new year and event.

Thanks for flagging this! Looks like it’s about both the events ordering and the menu missing with multiple years. I’ll take a look at the current setup and the related PR #633 and follow up with what I find 👍
