Rectangle polygons and AVISO tide model

Hello, I have a couple of questions regarding the area of interest selection for the retrieval of the GEE images and the tide model:

• is it possibile that the images retrieval take hours of time when the polygon is a non-rectangle kml? I’ve tried this method and I can see that there is a huge difference when using a GeoJson rectangle, but I’d like to work on small polygons rather than rectangles
• the AVISO service is temporary out of use (since a month and a few weeks); is there another method that can be used to add a tide model, so that I can carry on the process?

The downloaded images will always be rectangular, as it is a matrix of pixels. So better to provide a rectangle directly. How large is your AOI? I think above 100sqkm, it becomes very slow/doesn't work anymore because of GEE quotas.
Can you share more info on the AVISO service? I could give you an alternative link to the tide params.

Dear dott. Vos, thank you for your answers and for your work on the software, which is user-friendly and very clear in its guidance. As I understand, it is recommended to directly work with rectangles for the AOIs definition, keeping a particular attention to the 100sqkm limit.
AVISO is showing since a few months a banner claiming “ Distribution media: FES2022 Tidal Currents is not distributed at the moment. We cannot give you a specific date for its distribution. However, you will be informed of any updates on this status.”
I’d like to hear from you about the alternative link to access tide parameters, if you agree we can contact also via email to discuss the topic, so I can also expose my research objective.

I cannot find the link to the FES2022 tides that I uploaded a while back. If you have a shared folder where I can upload them I am happy to do that, just send me the location.
