Output volume adjustment

I've realised the driver reconfigures the BGM adjusts itself to the selected audio output device.
I guess this is done to be able to simply pass buffers along without needing to go into manipulating sample data (?).

I use BlackHole and LineIn to route system audio through HDMI without losing volume control. It would be really nice to adjust individual applications audio and there are more reasons I'd like to use BGM.

But unfortunately as soon as I select the HDMI as output in BGM the provided audio device switches to disabling volume control.

Is there further reasoning for that decision, or might that be something to be implemented?
