To have files downloaded with their original uploaded filename (instead of a UUID), use the download URL with the query parameter as_attachment=true. Dify's backend will set the Content-Disposition header to include the original filename stored in the database, so the downloaded file will have the correct name. The UUID in the URL is just for file identification and security—it does not affect the filename shown to users during download. No extra configuration or code changes are needed for this behavior—just ensure you use the correct endpoint and parameter.

The URL is the download link returned through FILE URL, and the downloaded file name is the uuid of the file, not the actual name of the original file.

By default, the FILE URL returned by Dify will cause the downloaded file to have the UUID as its filename. To have the downloaded file use the original uploaded filename, the URL must include the query parameter as_attachment=true. This tells the backend to set the Content-Disposition header with the original filename, so the browser will use it for the download instead of the UUID.

If you are generating the FILE URL programmatically, use the get_signed_file_url helper with as_attachment=True, or manually add &as_attachment=true to the query string of the download URL. This behavior is controlled in the backend endpoint for file download—see the implementation for details on how the filename is set based on this parameter (source, source).

If your integration or frontend does not support customizing the FILE URL, you may need to adjust how the download link is generated to include this parameter.
