Why does Arr::get() return full array for null key?

Arr helper returns the whole array if null is used as search key:
https://github.com/laravel/framework/blob/9.x/src/Illuminate/Collections/Arr.php#L309-L311

In the use case that $key is something calculated or retrieved form somewhere else, I think this behavieour is a bit misleading, since I would expect it returns $default instead of the whole $array.

Am I missing something?
