Consider PHP Prisma as an alternative to prism-php/prism

laravel/ai currently builds on prism-php/prism (https://github.com/prism-php/prism). Prism hasn't had a commit since March 20, 2026, almost 7 months ago. It has 111 open issues and PRs, and in that time it hasn't shipped any bug fixes, new providers or updates for new provider APIs. Because laravel/ai depends on it, Laravel users are stuck with the same bugs and gaps.

PHP Prisma (https://github.com/aimeos/prisma) is actively maintained and could replace it:

• Broader coverage: 40+ providers across text, image, audio and video. Text alone covers 20+ providers, including OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Vertex AI, Bedrock, Azure, Mistral, Groq, Deepseek, xAI, Kimi, Z.AI, OpenRouter, Ollama and Meta.
• Multi-media, not just text: image generation and editing (inpaint, erase, upscale, background, …), audio (speak, transcribe, demix, denoise, revoice) and video (imagine, extend, upscale), all through one unified interface.
• Text features: streaming (pull/generator based), structured output using each provider's native API, embeddings, custom and provider-side tools with an automatic tool loop, multi-turn messages, citations, reasoning/thinking budgets, and typed usage and metadata.
• Async jobs: long-running image and video jobs can be resumed in another process (e.g. queue workers) using a job ID, and can be cancelled. Rate-limit/Retry-After info is exposed.
• Light-weight and framework-agnostic: it needs only PHP 8.2 and Guzzle. Tool adapters for Laravel and Symfony are included.
• Actively maintained: new providers and fixes ship regularly. Live integration tests run against real provider APIs.
