GHTD - GitHub Things Done

An idea struck me as I was walking my dog this morning: a crossover of Getting Things Done (GTD) and using bug/task managers. Given Gimli's use of GitHub issues and the openness of the API & platform, I feel like GitHub may be a natural backend for an open GTD tool.and the openness of the API & platform, I feel like GitHub may be a natural backend for an open GTD tool.

Like Gimli, GHTD would focus on taking basic GitHub Issues functionality and extending it with a custom interface. A couple thoughts

• The app should focus on providing a clean, easy to use UI for a GTD workflow.
• The 'database' for the initial version should be a set of text files managed via Git.
  • Something like SQLite is attractive, but its limited in that its not human readable/editable in its most basic form.
• Potential feature: scrub through time to see the state of your tasks on a given date/time.
  • This feature essentially makes the tool a clever UI for git
