Could not get access token, Google Workspace Account

Describe the bug

I have managed to generate a Master Token using the docker container, But the script also returned "could not get access token"

As a access token wasn't mentioned on the setup readme I copied the master token into the integration setup and it seemed to save. But no devices/entities showed up :(

I'm using a Google Workspace account

Any help would be amazing!

Google Workplace account probably have different authentication process. Can you register normal Google account and invite it to your Google Home? Then you should be able to login with it.

So yea, this works. For anyone stupid as me, trying to get this to work for a year, every other month, this is how it works:

You download docker desktop for windows
Restart, this and that, default setup (for me it didnt start the engine after restart, had to restart again)
after you start docker desktop, you open the terminal (bottom right corner). (I had to enable the terminal first, easy button click in the upcoming window)
Copy paste docker run -it --name ha-google-get-token breph/ha-google-home_get-token /bin/bash and hit enter and let it do its thing (download and stuff)
type python3 get_tokens.py
Enter your google mail with @gmail.com
create a App Password (my default password did not work) at https://myaccount.google.com/apppasswords. Name does not matter
Copy the password to an editor, remove the spaces, copy it into the docker command line where it asks for the password
Copy the generated master token in an editor again, remove the "new line" so the token is in one line.
Now you have a working master token. Use it in the google home config together with your username (again with @gmail.com... why they call it username in the first place?)

Why in the hell has this process changed. It was a lot simpler before and I never had a problem. Even before using Nabu casa I was able to create a custom application API and link HA to Google. Now I can't find anyway of getting this to work right. Do I really need to setup a complete docker container just to obtain the key or is there a way to get this through the Google Developer Console?

Now I can't find anyway of getting this to work right. Do I really need to setup a complete docker container just to obtain the key or is there a way to get this through the Google Developer Console?

no other way that we know of :) spinning up a docker container is a one-time operation and is only needed if authenticating using username/password does not work for you.
imho, you should blame google for their shitty products, services and developer experience 😅

I by no mean was blaming you. ;-). Sorry if it seemed that way. I know you're just trying to develop around their crap. I just had change for the sake of change. I'm old school. I can count how many iterations of Windows I've had to recertify on! All the way back to 3.4 and NT 3.5. Anyway, I guess I'll spin one up next time I can get time to login to my server. I tried using an app password, my main password, various IDs and APIs I have from my old integration setup. Everything is still there and active. The only thing I really want is to get my Old Google Home Mini's working better with home assistant. They are in there. But it seems like it's lost its ability to send certain things like TTS or the reverse and get the proper actions. I have it setup with basic Nabu Casa, but it still doesn't want to function right. Eventually I'd like to get it working with Extended OpenAI I have connected via REST and FastAI Proxy. But I may have to just rebuild new multisensor speakers with a mic using an ESP32 and squeezebox. 🤷🏼‍♂️ seems like every time I get everything set, something freaking changes and I have to reengineer everything. I should have been a doctor! At least an asshole stays an asshole and doesn't upgrade or move!
