How to quit a REPL

When I execute ,sayonara from a REPL started with M-x slime, Lem displays a toast with the error "Can't say sayonara because it's self connection." and the REPL doesn't terminate. What's the recommended way of quitting a REPL?

As reported in #1780, after rebuilding Lem the error is now Evaluation aborted on change connection and the REPL displays the message ; changed connection (self connection).

If the client and server are in the same process, this behavior is due to the fact that if the process is terminated, the editor itself is terminated.
If you want to close the REPL, how about killing the buffer?

Killing the buffer works and is an acceptable solution. But I seem to remember in earlier versions of Lem ,sayonara didn't issue such an error, so I wondered.
