Typing # with an Italian keyboard on Linux

I use Lem and SBCL on Linux Mint 22 Cinnamon with this Italian keyboard. To type # I simultaneously press AltGr and the key that produces unshifted à and shifted °.

However, when I type # in Lem I get the error Key not found: M-# regardless of the mode. Typing # works fine everywhere else on the system. Is this an issue with my Lem setup? My ~/.config/lem/config.lisp is empty.

In sdl2 version AltGr seems to act as "meta" modifier. I have made a pull request for option to disable meta functionality from AltGr: #1799

Thanks, that would help. If I understand correctly (lem-sdl2/keyboard:right-alt-is-meta nil) should be added to init.lisp only after applying your PR, right? If I add it under the main branch I get the error READ error during LOAD: Symbol "RIGHT-ALT-IS-META" not found in the LEM-SDL2/KEYBOARD package.

By the way issue #1800 may be related.

Yes, patch needs to be applied first. I think #1800 is something different, but I don't have that issue so I can't say for sure.
