504 Gateway time-out loading annotated source page

Trying to load the annotated source page for a module in a current PR, I get:

Gateway time-out

The web server reported a gateway time-out error.

Hi, @webbnh. Unfortunately, this is a known issue: #1757

It's affects are apparently random—we haven't found a consistent pattern. We used to think it was file size, but now realize it occurs on some smaller files and does not occur on some huge files.

We're still working on it—but you'll want to follow #1757 for updates.

P.S. We've noticed that some examples resolve on their own. We think that applies when your request was being temporarily rerouted due to rilling maintenance at Cloudflare. But if your case does not resolve for that reason, then it will be persistent for that file on that commit.

It would be helpful to know if you get the 504 for the same file on:

• A previous commit
• A subsequent commit.

Thanks, @afinetooth. It has been a pretty consistent failure for us, which, once you guys recovered from the recent disaster also cleared up for us (which was awesome!). But, now that it is back (for us) I figured I would report it. 😞
