About the usage of Effect in Leptos.

Hello, I'm a bit confused when using Leptos for server-side rendering (SSR). I don't understand why some web-related functions can be used in Effect::new() while others cannot. For example, in this case, the alert function works, but confirm does not—this really puzzles me.

There are some functions that the browser prevents you from calling without user interaction or direct invocation; there may be a difference between the underlying alert() and confirm() here, I don't know. It's not really within Leptos's purview or control either way.

It's generally the best practice to avoid these older, blocking dialog functions in any case.

How can I use the gloo_timers crate in SSR (Server-Side Rendering)? Or can I even use this crate?

(Effects don't run on the server, to be clear, only on the client.)

gloo is specifically a crate for the browser. It exists because many of the ordinary Rust std or tokio ways of doing things are not available in the browser. If you're looking for a timer on the server you'd normally use tokio::time or something similar from the broader Rust async ecosystem.
