Save GIF doesn't work

Hi,
tried to make some gif / videos. Viedeo worked OK so far (would be great to have sound optional too).

Saving as .gif didn't work. Was doing something (one can not see any progressbar - just can wait if it finishes or not, or ...?).

After 6 minutes (for a 25 seconds gif it stopped finally with : "Didn't work. Check your settings ..". But which settings? Didnt find any point where I can change any settings, presets, options?

I have the same issue, but the "Didn't work. Check your settings" message happens immediately.
Could there be a bit more of an error message?
