[CRT SwitchRes] Dolphin reports internal rendering resolution as framebuffer resolution rather than render resolution

Dolphin reports 640x528 at 1X rendering resolution, which causes problems with CRT SwitchRes on an NTSC 15kHz display that has a wider range of supported resolutions and refresh rates compared to normal NTSC displays, such as an arcade monitor or my Philips CRT TV, which supports 50Hz PAL resolutions. It would be nice if the output were displayed in the same way as real GCN/RVL hardware.

In standalone Dolphin, there's an option to "Auto-adjust window size", which will automatically adjust the window size to the render resolution of the game. Maybe this can be adapted to the libretro core to tell the frontend what the current resolution is.

Games rarely actually output 640x528, but instead, will usually render a different resolution. The 640x528 resolution is just the size of the framebuffer. The game itself chooses the resolution.
