Source engine toGL games crash when not using x11 #9993

Distro: Arch Linux
Happens both on SDL2 and sdl2-compat.
Both kmsdrm and wayland make the program crash.
As far as i can tell the games don't use any xlib quirks, also i remember it working using the offscreen backend but now it doesn't anymore.
