I’ve been getting into correspondence chess recently, and I often use the analysis board to work through variations I’m considering and predict possible responses from my opponent.
Unfortunately, when I leave the correspondence game, those variations are lost.
It would be great if analysis variations could persist for the entire duration of a correspondence game, with either player able to remove their own variations when they’re no longer relevant. After the game ends, these variations could then remain available as part of the game’s analysis history.
Correspondence games can last a long time, and I often find myself revisiting ideas I analysed days or weeks earlier but can no longer remember. Having those variations saved would make the analysis board much more useful and could provide a valuable basis for post-game analysis.
