NB: Holochain folks seem a really decent, well-intentioned set of people. Picking them as exemplary in the web3/crypto ecosystem.

Why Holochain?
Because the world needs an upgrade

Holochain helps by creating an alternative to the dominant centralized systems of the Internet, protecting our ability to make our own choices, and giving trustworthy information we can act on. We call this 'digital agency', and we believe it will give us the power to face today's complex problems, together.

Questions

• "Our own choices" about what?
• "Giving us trustworthy information we can act on". How? By trustworthy does it mean trustworthy in https sense (i.e. no-one tampered with it) ... which seems kind of trivial or more significantly like "honest" or true (on average). Which seems a very big claim ... (and to have little to do with digital systems and much to do with human cognition and culture)
• "we believe it will give us the power to face today's complex problems, together." ... wow solve climate change, bring world peace, regulate AI ...
  • though note it just says "face", which need not imply address in any way ... (though that would make it a rather empty claim)

Claimed participants seem high ...

• core repo has 794 ⭐ (not a lot given project has been going 6 years and was significant in the web3 ecosystem)
