The ability to find candidates and being able to decide who to select as new maintainers to OpenStack project teams is crucial to ensure these teams are able to grow and sustain themselves over time. Extracting the data directly from Gerrit can take some effort, requiring teams and individuals to reimplement functionality that a metrics dashboard could deliver to them. The current LFX Insights dashboard does not have code review activity information available for OpenStack.
Gerrit has the following code review labels:
- -2
- -1
- 0 (when asking a question or making a comment that doesn't require any of the other labels)
- +1
- +2
- Workflow +1, which equals to approving the change
OpenStack maintainers would like to have access to reviewer activity metrics, to understand contributors' review activity and patterns better.
