XKB option "Switching to another layout with Caps Lock" causes Space key switch layouts

Bug description

If I select XKB option Switching to another layout: Caps Lock, Space key starts switching layouts (after logging out and logging in). Just pressing space bar in a text editor causes the layout to change.

Steps to reproduce

1. Enable 2 different keyboard layouts.
2. Set Switching to another layout: Caps Lock XKB option (see screenshot).
3. Log out and log in (restarting Cinnamon is not enough).
4. Open xed editor, press space bar and see what happens to the keyboard layout selection.

Expected behavior

Selecting Switching to another layout: Caps Lock XKB option should not affect the function of space key.

Additional information

I do not know if this bug/behaviour is specific to this Cinnamon version or to Cinnamon in general. I have not tried selecting this XKB option on other systems.
