Chart: Clickable points

I think it would add a lot of value if the chart points were clickable with an action. Such as:

click="doSomething(value)"

This could be a redirect, a modal popup or similar.

It would extend the value significantly, but I am unaware of the difficulty and bulk it would add.

Gotcha, this is possible in theory, but I would need be 100% sure about the use case and what information is essential. Like what would "value" be? and would it be clicking a single point? or all points on a vertical line? and if it was single points? would there be a pixel buffer? or just the actual physical point?

I will say: this feature makes sense, however, most charts I see in apps I use don't have this functionality, so i'm hesitant to pursue it
