**NOTE ABOUT UBUNTU SERVER MINIMIZED**: it is a stripped-down version of the Ubuntu Server. The primary advantage is its reduced resource consumption; it uses less disk space, memory, and CPU compared to a standard Ubuntu Server installation, making it ideal for environments with limited hardware. However, it lacks many convenience tools and default packages, so those may require manual installation later on. It's not the end of the world, if anything it will force you to practice the command line more often. But if you don't want that hassle and have enough hardware, reserve 2GB memory and 20GB disk, and proceed with a full standard Ubuntu Server installation.

**[In a local Server or local VM](https://linuxupskillchallenge.org/00-Local-Server):** a valid pick if dealing with a cloud provider is completely out of question. WSL made it easy to a lot of people to get to know Linux for the first time and VirtualBox is well established as a virtualization software. It is the OG method to get into Linux, anyway. *At least you won't get asked to dual boot.*
