are other hats compatible

I have this pi hat in my box of bits

I used it with 7.3inch e-Paper HAT (F) screen on a pi, but didnt really come up with anything cool to build, after seeing this project thought it would be worth digging out or does it only work with the 2.2/3 waveshare hats

what would be needed to make it work with this hat?
