Inline Edit with Full-Note Context via Custom Command + Prompt Popup

Hi everyone,
I'd like to suggest a new custom Command to enable context-aware inline editing of selected text within a note.

🔍 Idea
The user selects a portion of text in the note and triggers the command.
A popup window opens, where the user can input a custom prompt — this can be a command (e.g., "rewrite this in a more formal tone") or a question (e.g., "what does this mean?").

The AI should then:

• Use the selected text as the main focus
• But process it in the context of the entire note, not just in isolation
• Return the result in the popup (with the option to replace the original selection)

✅ Benefits

• Ensures edits are coherent with the rest of the note
• Supports both transformation (e.g., rephrasing, summarizing, translating) and explanation
• Offers flexibility via user-defined prompts

Thanks for the suggestion! I think this aligns with a broader theme of "providing proper context to a localized AI action". The context need not stop at the entire note, but can take into account relevant notes or other instructions.

cc @zeroliu what do you think is the best way forward? Any existing UX to refer to?

One idea that aligns with what we previous discussed was to support the same set of templates as the custom prompt. With that, users can configure their custom command with {activeNote} which will include the content of the current note in the prompt

The {activeNote} could also be helpful for other commands.
For example:
Explain the '< text >' below, what it means in a context of '<wider_context>'.

Just here to say I totally support this. I'm used to pressing ctrl+i in VSCode to make quick modifications / get an explanation with copilot.
I'd also love to see ctrl+enter or tab mapped to "accept" to quickly apply the changes. This would make quick modifications frictionless.
