[Announcement] Alternatives to ExtraSounds

I decided to create this issue - an announcement, due to the increasing number of alternatives to ExtraSounds.

• ExtraSoundsNext (created by Arborsm; renamed from “ExtraSoundsForge”)

  Supports Forge and Fabric environment using Architectury. This is the method I didn’t choose, because it requires a strictly Minecraft version designation. It’s off-design with v3 - just one Jar supports multiple Minecraft versions. I know it’s a trade-off between choosing Forge and Fabric (and maybe Quilt?) compatibility, or multiple versions of Fabric and Quilt support.

• Sounds (created by IMB11)

  An overhaul mod for vanilla sounds on Fabric, including both ExtraSounds and Auditory features. With powerful configuration system using YetAnotherConfigLib - YACL and ModMenu.

If all the features present in this repo are integrated in the future, this repo will be virtually unnecessary.
In fact, for now, with the advent of ExtraSoundsNext, my motivation to maintain this repo is very low.

I leave this comment as I foresee an end-of-life for this repo.

Hi
I just wanted to say
ExtraSoundsNext mod seems dead or rather really SLOW updates
Sounds mod overrides many other sounds outside the UI realm (in-game actions and block sounds) and those sounds are awful, have you tried walking on a chest with Sounds mod? it's literally awful and unbearable
I love extra sounds much more
only issue I've been facing is inventory sounds are kinda muted/low but armor slot sounds are higher and no matter what I do I can't make inventory sounds louder (I will make a separate issue for this)
conclusion: Please continue updating this mod cause this is a great mod

Unfortunately, my already low motivation has declined even further. It seems that my food mod can be replaced with a datapack, so I’ve lost the motivation to maintain my Maven repo.
Maintaining this GitHub repo is the last remaining reason for continuing to update this mod. This repo has a pull that submitted to the upstream.
In the future, the possibility of me publishing compiled Jar files on my Maven will be extremely low. And if I do publish them, it will be when I’m incredibly bored, have nothing to do, and am at a loss for what to do with my time.

I hope I’ll still love Minecraft a year from now.
