Move base to ionic?

Idea

I wanted to support iOS as well as Android, as per ionics docs its also possible to build an electron app. This would allow me to have one codebase for all platforms.

I've already played with ionic a bit, but it doesn't seem to be a low hanging fruit and cause a big wave of things to do, in order to move over to a different base.

Open Questions

• where to store data? json cannot be used on the other devices ->
  • sqlite? allows for querying more complex data sets as well as being able to search
  • rocksdb/lowdb/puchdb/..., most seem to sync perfectly fine
  • on a server and nothing local? only local cache using indexeddb?
• encrypt data or not?
  • kinda mandatory for the syncing feature i guess
• utilize native ionic components or write custom ones?
  • tried porting the source 1:1 and had issues with routing
  • page transitions without ion-page were buggy af, using the component added unwanted animations
• move to vue3 as ionic needs vue3?
• how to migrate current data to the new data source?
• how is the performance?
• do we even need syncing?
• how to properly test the app across different phones?
  • liquid font sizing necessary to not have any overflows, especially with different languages
• how to do the navigation?
  • add tabs on the bottom across all devices?

Tasks

• try porting the app to ionic as is
  • fix routing issues
  • figure out how to disable animations on page transitions or control them better?
  • check sqlite for the main storage
  • add storage module for settings
  • port tiptap to ionic as is, see how it performs
  • move file storing to the beforeDestory() hook
  • get electron version to work as is currently
    • switch to different file store, migrate data option
    • add codesigning/notarizing
    • add github pipeline releases
    • add commitlint/husky/automatic changelog.md
