I wander, can you make it possible for users to register themselves in self-service?
Newcomer gets his account then he could register his personal emails and/or cellphones and thus do not disturb admins for first registration.
Cause if he lost password Exchange becomes unavailable for password restore.

If email is not available, you can use questions and/or SMS

I'm working on a registration feature. Is there any interest in a pull request? My current plan is to add an option to which group newly registered users should be added, so that you can have an inactive group of users still to be activated by an admin, if you want that. Since it's a requirement for me I'm also adding optional support for overriding login and mail address with values from an SSL Client cert.

Hello @marcelklehr, I'm not sure to be able to merge such feature, as it will require a lot of options, and will then need time to be maintained. Anyway, if you write some, please propose a PR as it can also interest other users.
