If useful, given this package seems not actively maintained but highly useful, you can use this fork which allows you to pip install pydensecrf2 and then use the same import pydensecrf, etc. All credit to these authors here - I am just happy to help maintain it.

I manage to make it work for me, so in case it helps, this is the steps I made.

My context

• I'm on linux, so, it probably differs on other os
• have installed python 3.13 and python dev lib

Steps

git clone https://github.com/lucasb-eyer/pydensecrf.git
cd pydensecrf
python -m venv .venv
. .venv/bin/activate
python -m pip install --upgrade pip
pip install setuptools wheel build cython numpy
python setup.py build_ext
python -m build --wheel

You just build the wheel which ends in directory dist
