[Bug]: Warning flood at boot and shutdown #570

I have:

Install method used:

  • Using Plasma's "Add new widget" (KDE Store)
  • AUR
  • Nix package
  • Manually from the latest source code
  • OBS package

Describe the bug
A clear and concise description of what the bug is.

I see many (eg 100-200) of these warning messages, only at boot up and shut down time:

Aug 21 20:00:15 Pallas plasmashell[3033]: QPainter::begin: Paint device returned engine == 0, type: 2
Aug 21 20:00:15 Pallas plasmashell[3033]: PanelColorizer::updatePanelMask: QPainter is not active

Steps to reproduce

  1. Reboot
  2. Check logs with journalctl --since="1 hour ago" -g qpainter

Observed Result
Many of the above pair of messages

Expected Result
Nice clean logs
