The provided texel64 binary requires (as indicated in the readme.txt file):

SSE4.2 (Streaming SIMD Extensions 4.2)
POPCNT (Population Count instruction)

Even though your processor supports SSSE3, it may lack SSE4.2 or POPCNT — which would cause an “Illegal instruction” crash when the binary tries to use.
