<h2>Winter 2025 Important Updates</h2>
<p>Key Deadlines and Events for Full-Term Classes at UMSI:</p>
<ul>
<li>January 28: Add/Drop Deadline
<ul>
<li>Last day to drop a course with full tuition remission and without a "W" on your transcript. After this date, schedule changes must follow the Late Add/Drop procedure.</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>March 1 - March 9: Spring Break
<ul>
<li>No classes during Spring Break, but most University offices remain open to assist students.</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>March 19: Backpacking Begins
<ul>
<li>Students can add courses to their Backpack and view enrollment appointments to prepare for Fall 2025 registration. Refer to the Degree Progress and Registration page for guidance.

<li>March 26 - March 28: Graduate Student Registration
<ul>
<li>Graduate students can begin registering for courses based on their enrollment appointments, available in Wolverine Access. Ensure that course schedules align with MSI degree requirements.

<h2>MSI Degree Requirements</h2>
<p>The MSI Degree Requirements page provides essential information to help students understand the requirements for earning a Master of Science in Information (MSI) degree and create an academic plan.</p>

<li>Degree Completion Requirements:
<ul>
<li>Students must complete at least 48 credit hours of graduate coursework, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (B average). At least 39 of these credit hours must be completed within UMSI (SI credit).</li>

<p>The Course Waivers, Academic Policies, and Forms page serves as a resource for UMSI graduate students to navigate the course waiver process, understand relevant academic policies, and access necessary forms.</p>

<li>UMSI Course Waivers:
<ul>
<li>Students can waive specific courses commonly taken in the MSI program, allowing them to explore more advanced electives or other courses of interest.</li>
<li>Receiving a course waiver does not reduce the total credit requirements for the MSI degree. Students must still complete:

<li>39 SI credits.</li>
<li>48 total graduate-level credits.</li>
</ul>
