port this project to run with lvgl <9

Is there a way to get this simulator running with lvgl version 8.3.10 or greater but not version 9?
lvgl dropped support for dma2d for stm32h7xx controllers which we use so we're currently locked to version 8 of lvgl.

(Or alternatively is there a way to get the dma2d or a comparable speed working on the controller?)
