Problematic Behavior

I'm using liferea on Plasma ("KDE") and I have the tray icon plugin enabled. When a feed got new content, the tray icon starts jumping up and down until once opens liferea and clicks on the feed that caused the jumping.

I'm not sure if this behavior is done by plasma or by liferea, but I haven't seen it with any other applications. Is there some way to get rid of it? I find it very distracting.

I've noticed this as well. So far as I can tell this is KDE Plasma behavior when an app sets an "attention" icon. We could modify the tray plugin to just change the main icon, but I personally found that I eventually learned to ignore the pulsing icon and it doesn't bother me anymore.

I couldn't find any upstream discussion of this behavior anywhere in KDE.
