I’m looking to gather confirmations on successful Hackintosh setups using the OpCore Simplify. If you’ve successfully installed macOS using this method, please share your experience!

What to Include:

Gráficos integrado da AMD funcionando, porém com alguns bugs e lentidão mas esta ok.

Legal Gustavo. O meu eu até tinha conseguido, mas resolvi testar o OpCore. Ficou um foguetinho. Uma pena que não funcione virtualização, pois tem um programa desenvolvido para Windows que preciso usar.
Mas o meu Mac de produção eu fiz com a ajuda do Gabriel Luchina do Universo Hackintosh e está redondo (Hardware bem mais potentee com Intel)

It's a shame that it doesn't work with virtualization, because there's a program developed for Windows that I need to use.

I previously had a hackintosh running on my laptop since Monterey, but it run hot and drained battery quickly. After updating to Sonoma, iService stopped working. I've tried to change some configurations to enable iService but never got it to work. Then I gave up and enjoyed as is.

Yesterday, I gave this tool a try and it solved those problems. Thank you very much!

Actually I had successfully installed macOS on this computer using my self-built EFI before, but it had some minor issues so I gave OpCore Simplifier a try to see if the tool could fix (most of) those ;)

Overview

I'm testing on my previous macOS Sonoma (14.7.1) installation with OpCore Simplifier's generated EFI. All generated configurations are kept intact since generation, except:

• Changing the serial number information in config.plist -> PlatformInfo to my old EFI's
• Removing IntelBluetoothFirmware and adding Broadcom-related kexts to use my external Bluetooth USB Dongle instead of the internal one
• Removing the debug properties (in config.plist -> Misc -> Debug and boot-args NVRAM property)
• Changing ShowPicker to false (I prefer not showing the OpenCore picker)
• Mapping USB using USBToolBox with Use Native Classes option as provided from the tool's guide

Working

• CPU Power Management
• Graphics Acceleration
• Ethernet
• Wi-Fi (with itlwm.kext and HeliPort; AirportItlwm.kext also works)
• Bluetooth (both internal and my USB Dongle)
• Webcam
• Audio (Internal Microphone and External Headphones Port)
• Trackpad/Mouse
• Internal/External Keyboard
• All USB Ports
• HDMI Output (fully working after applying fixes as described in Troubleshoot section)

Partially Working

• Sleep/Wake
  Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I also don't know why.

• Internal Speakers
  My laptop's internal speakers have been broken for a long time so I can't test.
• iServices (iMessage, FaceTime and related features)
  I never use any iServices features so I don't care if it works or not.

Side Notes

• The OCS-generated EFI seems to offer better performance when using normally than my old EFI, I'm not sure what I was missing. But I'm very glad about that.
• If possible, I'm very glad if the maintainer can also add the external USB dongle (Wi-Fi and Bluetooth) support for OCS, to make it easier for users using the external dongles like me.

Anyways, thank you for your awesome tool, I can't believe that it helped me so much!

Troubleshooting

HDMI not outputting correct colors

I added two following properties to the iGPU's DeviceProperties in config.plist:

• framebuffer-con1-enable: <01 00 00 00>
• framebuffer-con1-type: <00 08 00 00>

Then restart and the HDMI output is now as fresh as usual!

It can do that, but it won't be completely accurate. This issue is something only kext developers could address more effectively

For external display issues, you need to add the framebuffer-conX-type property for HDMI (where X is the connector port order). Guide: https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Post-Install/gpu-patching/intel-patching/connector.html

I successfully fixed the HDMI output error as you can see in the Troubleshooting section!

However, sometimes macOS throws a kernel panic freezes/bootloops when turning on the computer with HDMI cable still plugged in, and the internal display sometimes doesn't show anything and I have to mess with the display settings + wait for a bit to get it working again. Can you suggest me a way to fix that issue?

Edit: It actually didn't throw any kernel panics, instead just froze in AppleActuatorDeviceUserClient::start Entered...

• If using OpenCore Package official from zero, it will conflicting with Intel SST Audio when booting Windows from boot-picker (Linux still fine)
• OpCore-Simplify will spoof iGPU as "Intel HD Graphics CFL CRB", u must change to "Intel UHD Graphics 630/620" for reducing the horrilble transparency in apps
• No ThinkEngine IC chip
• If u resetting the NVRAM, the all bootloader list including OpenCore will erased in BIOS, u must create manually with EasyUEFI/BootICE/efi-bootmgr due to BIOS only recognize the Microsoft .efi file (including the built-in bootx64.efi) , even throught the Windows Boot Manager is absent a.k.a the BIOS still booting to Windows (this is weird BIOS issue)
• If u using iStat Menus, don't forget to install Intel Gadget Tool for reading sensors
• The custom mentioned ACPI & Kext came from Seven-of-Eleven for compare purpose
• If the Charging Threshold was enabled on Lenovo Vantage, its still work but sometimes the percentage goes to 100% in Menu Bar/Control Center instead of the actually battery percentage left (dont worry about it, its normal due to ACPI battery patching is main reason)
• if u frustrated when ur device won't wakeup or kernel panic, just disable the kext of Realtek Card Reader
• Whats XHCI-unsupported.kext is require for me?

2. Installed High Sierra but did not try out NVIDIA drivers
   Installed Sequoia and that ran well too.
   The OS, sound, mouse were great. The thunderbolt, touchpad, ethernet, wifi however were not. USB ethernet device worked though.

3. I followed the instructions, to the letter, for Simplify and am happy there were no freezups, nor bricking.

4 & 5. I'm afraid I've already wiped this experiment. I will take another crack at it when I have more than a couple of hours and will update this message, if that is possible. But since thunderbolt did not work and I use that for essential external devices - I gave up ..for now.

1. Any discrecte laptop GPU WILL NOT work (in NVIDIA using optimus, idk with AMD)
2. Thunderbolt? Not all hackie will work 100%, even u using ThinkPad
3. Dont forget to checking .kext list before generate ur EFI (bcoz the for Intel WiFi using itlwm.kext as default, it means u must install Heliport.app for connecting to network)
4. On Sequoia, u must root-patching via OpenCore Legacy Patcher for getting back the WiFi function

OpenCore Simplify Successful Installation Report

Hello everyone,

I'm sharing my successful Hackintosh setup using the OpCore Simplify method. This build, featuring the popular Intel 9th Gen (i5-9400F) and AMD Polaris (RX 580) combo, is stable and fast after some critical manual tweaks, especially concerning graphics and power management.

1. Hardware Overview

iServices (iMessage/FT)	PENDING TROUBLESHOOTING	Login screen briefly crashes/restarts after successful login. No dedicated troubleshooting steps applied yet.

3. Steps Taken & Troubleshooting Tips

The following steps were crucial for a stable post-installation environment, particularly for the RX 580. Note: No OC Snapshot was used for kext activation/deactivation.

1. WhateverGreen (WEG) Temporary Deactivation: To avoid the common KextLog: Loading FileSet KC(s) kernel panic during the initial installation phase, the WhateverGreen.kext was disabled directly in the config.plist (Kernel -> Add -> WhateverGreen.kext -> Enabled: False).
2. WEG Re-Activation: After macOS was successfully installed and booted:
   • The kext was re-activated by setting Enabled: True in config.plist.
3. Black Screen Fix: To prevent the known black screen issue with Polaris GPUs, the following boot argument was added to NVRAM → boot-args:
   $$\text{agdpmod=pikera}$$
4. CPU Reporting Anomaly: Although the actual CPU is an i5-9400F, the system currently reports it as an i9. This is a cosmetic issue related to the SMBIOS (iMac20,2) and does not affect performance, as the necessary power management (SSDT-PLUG) is correctly applied.
5. SMBIOS Setup: SMBIOS was correctly set to iMac20,2 with unique serials for iServices.

As long as the SMBIOS you are choosing does not bring performance / power management issues and you are using the right SSDTs and kexts I see no problem with your decision, but that's my personal opinion. SMBIOS selection should be driven by the cpu and GPU configuration you have but it is limited by the macOS version you want to install.

OpCore makes MacPro7,1 SMBIOS and I don't want it because macOS uses almost 5 GB more memory with MacPro7,1.

I'm not good at this. Did not know much about hackintosh. I reset my SMBIOS to macPro7,1 as you mentioned before and games are not laggy anymore. Only it says "Modules misconfigured". Thanks for helping me. I'll always use what OpCore Simplify selects.

@nFluDev Using RestrictedEvents kext boot args https://github.com/acidanthera/RestrictEvents should help you getting rid off the memory misconfiguration error but if it doesn't work try this solution that worked for me

This was my first time doing this. I found about I through Reddit. Hardest part for me was getting the file structure correct to stop booting from USB. I was able to figure it out by doing it manually instead of using terminal "cp ........." maybe tonight even. I have never had a Mac before so learning keyboard and customizations are next

My next adventure will be doing this on my Framework 16. Cancel that is has a Radeon 780M (iGPU).

One doubt, would I need to later include NRed or whateverGreen later? Will hardware acceleration work in current state without any GPU kext?

3. Steps Taken / Notes

• It didn't work right away. The only thing I need to do to make it work without crashing is to set:

• EnableWriteUnprotector = False

• DevirtualiseMmio = False

• RebuildAppleMemoryMap = False

• SyncRuntimePermissions = True

• Enabled amfipass=1 for Tahoe.
  update :
  Audio output (only) works with layout-id 13 and 27
  Internal microphone works only with layout-id 15
  No layout provides both at the same time

update 2:
Now it works 100%, I had to create my own layout-id! :)

✔ macOS Sequoia + macOS Tahoe compatibility

Because some networking and system extensions behave differently between Sequoia and Tahoe, I configured OpenCore to load different kexts depending on the kernel version:

• Tahoe:
  -> uses itlwm.kext (AirportItlwm not supported)
  -> disables kexts incompatible with Darwin 25.x

• Sequoia:
  -> uses AirportItlwm.kext (with OCLP-style patches enabled)
  -> legacy Skywalk patches active only on this version

This allows both macOS versions to boot from the same EFI without manual switching. 🔥

✔ Triple boot (W11 + Sequoia + Tahoe)

I kept all kext toggles version-specific instead of disabling entire sections.
As a result, W11, Sequoia, and Tahoe all boot perfectly without conflict.

• Kepler Microarchitecture (GK107 Die)

Intel HD Graphics 2000

• Is kept disabled due to lack of support. (GT1 Tier).
• Integrated GPU (iGPU) with Intel Core i5-2400.

RAM

8GB DDR3-1600 (Upto 1866MHz) KINGSTON HyperX FURY

• Currently bottlenecked due to my 1333MHz stick and lack of XMP support on my motherboard.

4GB DDR3-1333 Generic Memory

• Works fine, system is running at 1333MHz.

Total Memory: 8GB + 4GB = 12GB

Storage

Generic NVMe SSD

• Shows as ESSSENCORE NVME GEN3 SSD in Windows. works fine.

DRM with only an Intel iGPU has been broken since macOS Big Sur. Intel iGPU + AMD GPU still works. You can try clearing ME, but this will break another function.
