Single-user improvements (control after login + decluttered UI) #616

I am new to ne.ko. I have been trying it out as an isolated browser for solely personal usage (...Google). Several things struck me as obvious, to the point I think I might be missing something. These seem to be in the same vein as the existing no-auth provider and ssh tunneling. I'd like to get a quick advice.

  1. When you're the only user, it doesn't make sense to reserve a significant space at the bottom to just display your avatar, centered. Moreover, other controls below (readme, language, request/release control, etc.) are also mostly useless. Is there a standard way of hiding the bottom panel? One could always go for a CSS hack but it feels like making it collapsible would be useful to many people.

  2. In the same scenario, there's no need for request/release control at all. It would be great to be taking control automatically upon login. Is there a setting for this? If not, how would I go about adding it myself?

As an aside, Chromium-based browsers refused to work on my VPS without --no-sandbox in the supervisord config. Not sure if it's due to some kernel restrictions of my hosting provider, but I spent a fair amount of time on this so perhaps mentioning it in the documentation could save this time for others.

The error I was getting:

[60:60:0118/225736.560885:FATAL:sandbox/linux/services/credentials.cc:131] Check failed: . : Permission denied (13)

Note that it's different than the one produced when forgetting cap_add: SYS_ADMIN (Operation not permitted). Related:
