Updating socket.io to 9.6

Would be good to keep up the version. 0.9 was pretty big for socket.io.

I did a fork to start playing around with updating stuff like socket.io and making some changes (that I can find) so that node v0.8 behaves. I'm not an expert yet, so I don't know if any of it is in contributable
