How do you remove an attribute from a node?

I would like to transform this node <appSettings file="Web.Secrets.config"> to be <appSettings>. Do you support removing the attribute all together?

I was thinking something like removing nodes. #20

I tried awhile back and couldn’t get it to work. I’m trying to do it on VSTS.
